The Momentum Fund is a group of visionary leaders who enable the growth of Scholars of Finance.

Momentum Investors pledge annual commitments of $10k for a minimum of 3 years to help fund Scholars of Finance’s staff, expansion, technology, and all other operating expenses. Thanks to Momentum Fund donors, we are able to continuously improve and expand nationwide. Momentum Investors accelerate SOF’s growth and generate positive returns for the organization and the thousands of students our organization serves. These donors fuel our mission to inspire character and integrity in the finance leaders of tomorrow.

What is the 100% Model?

The 100% Model, which was made popular by charity: water, a best in class non-profit that we receive mentorship from, ensures that 100% of all program donations go directly towards their purpose. When donating to the Momentum Fund, 100% of the funds will go directly towards growth and operating expenses, thereby supporting our staff who are dedicated to delivering high-impact programming for our students, the finance leaders of tomorrow.

Why finance?

Think back to the 2008 Financial Crisis. 8.7 million people lost their jobs and as many as 10 million lost their homes. Many couldn’t feed their families or care for their loved ones, and didn’t know what to do. At Scholars of Finance, we believe the financial industry’s influence reaches far beyond banks and accounting firms. It moves markets, democracies, and our communities. We think SOF is the most high-impact way to make a difference in the world.

How is SOF making an impact?

Scholars of Finance is an innovative nonprofit organization that fosters core values and principles among our members to ensure that finance is a force for good. We help these students get placed at top firms and funds so they can positively impact the industry. SOF achieves this aim through undergraduate chapters that deliver leadership conferences, professional success events, mentorship, workshops, and leadership development programs.
