We’re a close, motivated team on a big mission to change trajectories for future leaders in the finance sector. We have a vision of a world where all finance leaders steward the world’s capital for the greater good. And our mission is to inspire character and integrity in the finance leaders of tomorrow.
Scholars of Finance is a national team, with 500+ members across 17 (soon to be 30+) universities in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, and several other markets. Since hiring our first full-time staff in 2019, we’ve raised more than $3M+ in seed funding and commitments and brought together 1500+ students with 500+ executives for values-based leadership development. We’re proud to be supported by partners including Goldman Sachs, KKR, Piper Sandler, and U.S. Bank and advisors including Chris Larsen, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Ripple, Richard Davis, prior CEO of U.S. Bank, Teri List, Board Director of Microsoft, and Tony Paquette, CFO of Point72.
What You’ll Do
- Curate and publish creative content across a variety of digital marketing channels
- Manage communications schedules with both students and finance professionals to maximize engagement without over messaging any individual stakeholder
- Manage the brand of SOF–ensuring consistency to branding guidelines across the organization
- Create integrated marketing campaigns to promote national events and initiatives
- Manage social media content and followership on Instagram, LinkedIn, and other potential social media platforms
- Work directly with student leaders at chapters of Scholars of Finance to empower them for successful marketing efforts on their campuses
- Analyze post insights/interactions and implement changes to continue driving Scholars of Finance’s image/brand forward
- Come up with creative ways to engage with the followers of Scholars of Finance on a national and chapter level
- Work with our front-end engineering team to improve the overall experience of the website and ensure that it’s on-brand with all other marketing materials
- Launch, produce and syndicate our biweekly podcast by coordinating guest recordings and working with our contracted production agency
- Drive the creation and distribution of our quarterly CEO newsletter
Transformation You’ll Drive
- Work with our technology, development, and member success teams to create and execute marketing strategies
- Review our marketing campaigns to learn and iterate. Work with the CEO to recommend and implement changes to increase brand messaging on an ongoing basis
- Expand our audience by ~5,000+ through developing strategies to reach more people excited about our mission
- Oversee the development and execution of a PR strategy and collaborate with a PR firm for top-tier press
What You’ll Need
Leadership and Management
- Experience analyzing, building, and running excellent marketing campaigns–staying informed of progress and driving key objectives. You must have the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships, escalate when necessary, and get results
- Adept at driving go-to-market strategies
- Skilled at driving results–managing the input of a variety of team members. You can run multiple workstreams to which students, part-time employees, contractors, and senior executives contribute
- Comfort with ensuring consistent branding, marketing research, and web analytics
- You possess sophisticated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; you build strong followership among your teammates; people receive messages from you and it brightens their day; they smile when they see your name in their inbox
Foundational Skills
- 2-5 years of work experience
- BA/BS or equivalent with a strong academic record and degree with an emphasis in marketing
- Strong critical thinking skills. You can identify opportunities, anticipate challenges and gaps, and contingency plan accordingly
- Ability to effectively research and recommend marketing strategies, tactics, communication timelines, and resources needed
- Experience managing key partnerships, email campaigns, and other key channels to increase stakeholder awareness and engagement
- Experience planning & managing complex communication schedules
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes while prioritizing and juggling multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment

Nice-to-Haves
- Advanced degree, ideally an MBA or Master’s Degree
- Experience researching, developing and launching new products.
- Experience testing & iterating communication strategies
- Experience working with teams in multiple cities & multiple time zones
- Ability to work remotely in Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Boston, or New York City
- Experience directly managing others, working within, leading, and growing small & nimble teams
